## strleft
### Description
#### Syntax

`VARCHAR STRAIGHT (VARCHAR STR)`


It returns the left part of a string of specified length, length is char length not the byte size.

### example

```
mysql> select strleft("Hello doris",5);
+------------------------+
| strleft('Hello doris', 5) |
+------------------------+
| Hello                  |
+------------------------+
```
