If the API versions do not match, MaxScale will treat this as an
error. The API versioning would allow backwards compatible changes but the
functionality to handle that is not implemented in MaxScale.
Updated API versions based on changes done to module APIs in 2.2.
All modules now have an 8-bit range for capability flags. Currently only
the client side authenticator and protocol capability bits are loaded due
to the fact that backend versions of these modules don't relate to a
particular service.
When a resource has a relation to another resource, it should be expressed
as a working link to the resource. By passing the hostname of the server
to the functions, we are able to generate working relation links.
The modules that implement a diagnostics entry point now return a JSON
type object. This removes the need to format data inside the modules.
The module implementations of these are not yet complete which means that
MaxScale will fail to compile.
The functions don't modify the filters when the JSON is generated. This
means that the parameters can be const.
Minor formatting fixes to service sources.
Both the filters and services can be queried via the REST API now that
these resources can be expressed in JSON format.
As with the other resources, these directly call the functions that
generate the data. This will be done via the inter-thread messaging system
once it's in place.
Using an empty struct instead of void* to represent the opaque
filter and filter session types, means that C++ filter types
simply can derive from them. That brings conceptual clarity and
also means that the C++ instances can be returned from the module
callbacks without casts. When provided as argument they can be
downcast using static_cast instead of reinterpret_cast.
Similar types to be provided for routers.
Moved some typedefs to router.h and server.h, changed a few
constants to these enums. Renamed some types in config.h to
remove "Gateway".
There are still some functions in the public header which are
only used in core, but they seem to fit the theme of public functions
so were not moved.
Better to use types whose size is unquestionably unambiguous
in plugin interfaces.
As on current platforms sizeof(int32_t) == sizeof(int) plugins
need not immediately be changed to return int32_t:s instead of
int:s.
The filters should use the same configuration parameters as other modules
use. This allows them to use the common configuration management functions
to get values from it.
Common capabilities are now defined in routing.h. The common
capabilities can be defined using bits 0 - 15.
Router capabilities are defined using bits 16-31 and filter
capabilities (should there ever be such) using bits 32-47.
So, to find out the capabilities of a service you only need to
OR the capabilities of the router and all filters together.
For instance, if a single filter needs statement based routing,
then that is what is done.
- All now include maxscale/cdefs.h as the very first file.
- MXS_[BEGIN|END]_DECLS added to all C-headers.
Strictly speaking not necessary for private headers, but
does not hurt either.
- Include guards moved to the very top of the file.
- #pragma once added.
- Headers now to be included as <maxscale/xyz.h>
- First step, no cleanup of headers has been made. Only moving
from one place to another + necessary modifications.
