c039821467 MXS-1883 Maintenance is now the only user-modifiable bit for a monitored server
The request to turn maintenance off/on is a separate flag, although the actual
status is still contained in the status bitfield.

4ba0ac434b MXS-1778: Add support for MariaDB GTID tracking
The MariaDB implementation allows the last GTID to be tracked with the
`last_gtid` variable. To do this, the configuration option
`session_track_system_variables=last_gtid` must be used or it must be
enabled at runtime.

3f4d6391b5 MXS-553: Add diagnostics_json to protocol API
The protocol now allows protocol modules to return JSON formatted
information about the protocol module internals. Currently this is only
implemented by the mariadbbackend module and it returns the current
connection ID on the backend server.

cdb43335a2 MXS-553: Update and document the protocol API
Removed unused and properly documented all entry points in the protocol
module API. As the removal of the `session` entry point is an backwards
incompatible change, the protocol API version was updated.

621139f901 MXS-553: Use dcb_set for KILL command handling
Now that the set of DCBs is stored in the session, it can be used to speed
up the handling of the KILL command processing by stopping when the first
related DCB is found.

91cc5b1e89 MXS-1828: Simplify LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE handling
By relying on the server to tell us that it is requesting the loading of a
local infile, we can remove one state from the state machine that governs
the loading of local files. It also removes the need to handle error and
success cases separately.

A side-effect of this change is that execution of multi-statement LOAD
DATA LOCAL INFILE no longer hangs. This is done by checking whether the
completion of one command initiates a new load.

The current code recursively checks the reply state and clones the
buffers. Neither of these are required nor should they be done but
refactoring the code is to be done in a separate commit.

Added two helper functions that are used to detect requests for local
infiles and to extract the total packet length from a non-contiguous
GWBUF.

The default database was not extracted correctly as the length of the

database name length used the smaller than operator instead of the correct
larger than operator.

10806f8d8c Update client SHA1 on reauthentication
When the client reauthenticates via COM_CHANGE_USER the new SHA1 needs to
be stored as the backend connections rely on it being up-to-date.

This commit fixes the regression of the mxs548_short_session_change_user
test.

00581e7f35 MXS-1826: Fix COM_CHANGE_USER regression
The re-authentication done in MaxScale caused multiple error packets to be
sent for the same COM_CHANGE_USER. In addition to this, the failure of
authentication did not terminate the client connection.

The change in behavior requires the test case to be changed as well.

dbbd0e957a MXS-1852: Close partially connected DCBs if killed

To support a wider range of client connectors, MaxScale should respond

COM_CHANGE_USER but all connectors understand the AuthSwitchRequest
packet.

66d7281d97 MXS-1846: Send correct packet number in errors
The mysql_create_standard_error function accepted a packet number as a
parameter but did not use it as the actual packet number. As the value it
used happened to coincide with 50% of the use-cases, it went unnoticed.

The remaining 50% occurred when a KILL command was executed with an
unknown connection ID.

d6c44aaf52 MXS-1804: Allow large session commands
Session commands that span multiple packets are now allowed and will
work. However, if one is executed the session command history is disabled
as no interface for appending to session commands exists.

The backend protocol modules now also correctly track the current
command. This was a pre-requisite for large session commands as they
needed to be gathered into a single buffer and to do this the current
command had to be accurate.

Updated tests to expect success instead of failure for large prepared
statements.

b36f6faa7e MXS-1754 Reintroduce maxscale::Worker
Worker is now the base class of all workers. It has a message
queue and can be run in a thread of its own, or in the calling
thread. Worker can not be used as such, but a concrete worker
class must be derived from it. Currently there is only one
concrete class RoutingWorker.

There is some overlapping in functionality between Worker and
RoutingWorker, as there is e.g. a need for broadcasting a
message to all routing workers, but not to other workers.

Currently other workers can not be created as the array for
holding the pointers to the workers is exactly as large as
there will be RoutingWorkers. That will be changed so that
the maximum number of threads is hardwired to some ridiculous
value such as 128. That's the first step in the path towards
a situation where the number of worker threads can be changed
at runtime.
2018-04-16 14:53:08 +03:00
230876cd69 MXS-1754 Rename mxs::Worker to mxs::RoutingWorker
A new class mxs::Worker will be introduced and mxs::RoutingWorker
will be inherited from that. mxs::Worker will basically only be a
thread with a message-loop.

Once available, all current non-worker threads (but the one
implicitly created by microhttpd) can be creating by inheriting
from that; in practice that means the housekeeping thread, all
monitor threads and possibly the logging thread.

The benefit of this arrangement is that there then will be a general
mechanism for cross thread communication without having to use any
shared data structures.

b33f464eea MXS-1506: Make heartbeat reads atomic
The old hkheartbeat variable was changed to the mxs_clock() function that
simply wraps an atomic load of the variable. This allows it to be
correctly read by MaxScale as well as opening up the possibility of
converting the value load to a relaxed memory order read.

Renamed the header and associated macros. Removed inclusion of the
heartbeat header from the housekeeper header and added it to the files
that were missing it.

10a9d70851 Get service capabilities from a better source
The DCB pointer in the MySQLProtocol struct doesn't appear to be updated
in all cases which causes it to be an unreliable source. As the session
itself is always available and it always has the service pointer properly
set, it should be used instead.

Also removed the dead protocol compression code and replaced the
parameters with the service capability bits.
