whereby timezone isn't an int, but tzset() exists...
This isn't a definitive fix, as there is probably an easier way of
fixing the bug...

Taking a chance here. Under both Solaris and FreeBSD, there is a

FreeBSD, /usr/include/limits.h *includes* machine/limits.h, while under
