Also remove the tools/solar.h included from tools/debug.hxx. The include of solar.h
header was necessary in some cases because of a macro or a typedef that was needed.

Attempt to clean up most but certainly not all the spelling

could probably blame the international nature of the code but

Explicitly mark overriding destructors as "virtual"
...
It appears that the C++ standard allows overriding destructors to be marked
"override," but at least some MSVC versions complain about it, so at least make
sure such destructors are explicitly marked "virtual."
