Originally we planned to do this rename after dropping the old widget implementation. However, as we continue rolling out the update, there is a risk that people will start depending on the component names (e.g. for modifyClass) so it seems best to make the rename now to reduce risk later.
In this PR, all references in the UI to the word "`upgrade`" are changed to "`update`". This is to differentiate the update process in self-hosted sites from the plan "upgrade" process in hosted sites.

Plugins that are hidden or disabled aren't shown in the plugins list at `/admin/plugins` because they cannot be changed. However, the `#show` route doesn't check for the plugin's state and responds with 200 and the plugin's info even if the plugin is hidden or disabled. This commit makes the `#show` route respond with 404 if the plugin is hidden or disabled.
We need to scroll lock textareas when the keyboard is visible, otherwise they might become unusable if another element is body scroll locked on the page (eg: channels messages).
Note this commit is also slightly simplifying the code.
Prior to this fix the `swipe` modifier could not be disabled and we were not using the `this.dimissable` property to apply/not apply it.
This commit adds a new `enabled` param to the `swipe` modifier, which is used in modals with the value of `this.dismissable`.
Note this commit also adds tests for this modifier.
Why this change?
This allows downloading the MaxMind databases from a mirror in cases
where downloading directly from MaxMind's API endpoint is problematic
due to API limits.
Why this change?
We currently support `GlobalSetting.refresh_maxmind_db_during_precompile_days` which
should cache the maxmind databases on disk for the configured number of
days before it downloads the databases from maxmind again via the API.
This was previously added to help us avoid hitting the API rate limit from maxmind.
However, there was a bug in the `copy_maxmind` when we copied the latest
downloaded database to the cache directory. In particular, `FileUtils.cp` was called with
`preserve: true` which would preserve the modified time of the file
being copied. This is problematic because download the database from
maxmind on 2 April 2024 can give us a file with an mtime of 29 March
2024. If `GlobalSetting.refresh_maxmind_db_during_precompile_days` is
set to `2` for example, the cache will never be used since we will
think that the file has been downloaded for more than 2 days in our
checks.
What is the fix here?
While we want to preserve the owner and group of the file, we do not
want to preserve the modified time and hence we will call
`FileUtils.touch` when copying the file.
Why this change?
Before this change, the validation error message shown to the user when
saving a theme objects setting is very cryptic. This commit changes the
validation error messages to be displayed on top of the editor instead.
Note that I don't think this way of displaying is the ideal state we
want to get to but given the time we have this will do for now.
Why this change?
In the categories, groups and tags selectors, we were showing a
validation error message when a property that is not required but
has a min validation is empty. In this case, we should not be displaying
the min validation error message because the property is allowed to be
empty.
Why this change?
When adding a new object, we want to switch to the input fields of the
new object instead of just appending the new object to the list of
objects as we believe this is a better UX flow.
Why this change?
The field components to select categories, groups and tags had quite a
bit of logic duplicated between them. This commit refactors the logic
to remove most of the duplication so that we can introduce changes
without having to make the changes in multiple places.
In e05628c0793567b581ca04cbae801a7d4a6e55ca we omitted the HTML view for logged in users but that view is used when printing.
This restore the HTML view when printing a topic page.
The expected behavior when receiving a message is the following:
- if user is at the bottom of the screen, scroll and append message
- if user is not at the bottom of the screen, don't scroll, show arrow and don't append message
Why this change?
For a schema like this:

When the value of the property is set to an empty array, we are not
raising an error which we should because the property is marked as
required.
Why this gem?
This gem was added close to 10 years ago to speed up the generation of
RSS feeds. However, RSS feeds generation do not even call `String#to_xs`
anymore and the `fast_xs` gem does not install on macOS without using
the following workaround:
`bundle config build.fast_xs
--with-cflags=\"-Wno-incompatible-pointer-types\"`
Therefore, we have decided to drop the gem.
Why this change?
This gem is failing to install cleanly on macOS and the following
workaround is required:
`bundle config build.gc_tracer
--with-cflags=\"-Wno-incompatible-pointer-types\"`
Instead of requiring this workaround, we have decided to drop `gc_tracer`
because it isn't a gem that is used anymore.

This adds a hidden site setting of `skip_email_bulk_invites`
If set to `true`, the `BulkInvite` job will pass the value to `Invite`, meaning the generated invite wont trigger an email notification being sent to the newly invited user.
(This is useful if you want to manage the sending of the invite emails outside of Discourse.)
The personal message enabled groups site setting is overridden by the group interaction settings for specifying who is allowed to write to groups. This was not clearly explained in the description here and I think I fixed it!
